Renovating your new home’s interiors before relocating to the capital

April 12, 2018 By tylermandic Leave a Comment

If you are relocating to London then it is likely you have already looked at some of the wonderful properties in the city. London is famous for architecture and this is something that is not confined to public buildings, churches and palaces. The city is also famous for the architecture of its houses.

In a short while, you could be living in one of these houses, soaking up the atmosphere of the capital, enjoying the vibrant city life and marvelling at the architecture or your home and the streets around you. However, many of London’s architectural marvels are relatively old and need some attention.

It is possible to buy a home in London that represents great value because it needs some renovation work done on the inside. Addressing aging interiors is something you can approach as an exciting project – modernising the inside of your new home before you move in so that it is as impressive within as it is without.

London boasts a number of very high quality renovation experts who will tackle your project with the skill, expertise and professionalism required to design a truly stunning interior space, worthy of the property you have invested in.

The positive way to deal with buying property in a great area of London

April 4, 2018 By tylermandic Leave a Comment

If you have your heart set on living in a certain part of London then you are not always in a position to make demands of the area in terms of the houses that become available. You have to think about the location first and foremost if you know that a specific region or road is perfect for you. You may also have to face up to the idea that few houses make it onto the market in your chosen area.

You do have a really positive option if this is your situation. When a property on the street you want to live on makes it onto the market and it is not really up to your standards then you could actually invest in the property in order to give it that lift that will make all the difference.

Investing in renovation in London is quite a popular activity because people recognise that they are not always going to get exactly what they want when they want it. Instead of compromising, they take the more positive route of taking matters into their own hands and changing a property that becomes available to suit them.

Examining the motivations behind buying a fixer-upper (Part 3)

March 29, 2018 By tylermandic Leave a Comment

This is the final instalment in a series of blog posts concerned with people’s motivation when they buy a house that needs a lot of work doing to it instead of buying a house where the work has already been done. The previous posts were largely concerned with aesthetic matters but there is another factor to consider and this one is of a financial nature.

Making the most of a good investment

The fact is that a house that is one the market that needs money spending on it will be on the market for significantly less than one that needs no work doing on it. This means that buying the house is a real investment. It often represents a good financial move to buy a house that is on the market for a low price and then to carry out the necessary work to raise its value.

This is not something you can undertake lightly. You need to have the budget to spend on getting the help of architects and other professionals in the world of construction and design so that you can make something of the project. However, when it is done properly, this sort of move can turn out to be very successful indeed.

Examining the motivations behind buying a fixer-upper (Part 2)

March 22, 2018 By tylermandic Leave a Comment

The previous blog post began looking at why many home owners are so keen to invest in a property that is incomplete inasmuch as it does not cater to their needs in its current form and it needs significant attention. Aside from the pride associated with fixing a house up so that it is fit for purpose there is also the matter of turning a house into the perfect home.

Creating the perfect home

The fact is that the original house may not suit your own sense of style and it may not suit the practical requirements of your household. However, there may be no better alternatives out there either. In this event it is often a good idea to make the investment and then carry out the work with the help of design and build specialists in your area.

This way you can dictate what goes on in the design stages. This is important because it allows you to turn the original house into something much more personal. After all the work has been carried out the place will suit you much more in terms of how it looks and it will also meet the needs of your household because it will have been renovated specifically to do so.

Examining the motivations behind buying a fixer-upper (Part 1)

March 12, 2018 By tylermandic Leave a Comment

Buying a house to fix up is actually something that many house buyers prefer to buying a house that is already in perfect condition for their arrival. There are number of different reasons for taking this approach and they will be examined in a little bit more detail of the course of the next couple of blog posts.

The pride associated with putting in the work

There is certainly a lot to be said for putting in a lot of the effort to get the house into shape yourself. This is something that people tend to enjoy and it gives them a real sense of pleasure when all the work is finished and the house looks stunning.

Obviously it is wise to have help when you renovate a property that needs a lot of work and this help can be found in the shape of design and build companies who are prepared to take on architectural and construction duties as well as project management responsibilities. This assistance is really valuable when it comes to fixing the house up properly without cutting corners.

Renovating a property as an investment for the future (Part 2)

March 4, 2018 By tylermandic Leave a Comment

Perhaps the best way of going about your renovation is to get professional teams involved. If you can secure the help of a design and build team that can conduct all the work from the initial architecture and design to the construction work and the interior design at the end of the project then you stand a better chance of being able to get the property back on the market at a vastly improved price relatively soon.

Of course, this may not be what you actually intend to do with the property. You might actually prefer to rent the property out because you don’t actually want to get rid of the investment straight away. Otherwise you may be very proud of the work you have put in and you would be sad to see it go.

Whatever you choose to do with the property once it has been renovated, one thing is clear. It is all about the quality of the work that is done. You need to address repair work at the same time as making the place attractive to future buyers or tenants so that nothing gets in the way of making money on the property when you choose to.

Renovating a property as an investment for the future (Part 1)

February 26, 2018 By tylermandic Leave a Comment

It can be a really good idea to get hold of quite a cheap property on the market and turn it into something worth a good deal more. This is something that is certainly possible given the number of repossessions that make it onto the market nowadays and properties that sell at auction for a very good price. Often these houses are in pretty poor condition, but they can be saved with some proper repair work.

London is full of properties that have fallen into disrepair but which but actually command a really good price on the market if they were in good shape because of their locations. London is a desirable place to live and there is always likely to be demand for properties in each district.

It is all a matter of putting in the time and effort to have the place renovated. If you do this then you could actually make some serious money out of it. If you invest in really good quality renovation and interior design then you stand to create a lot of interest in your property once the project is complete.

Making the most of a rundown house with plenty of potential

February 17, 2018 By tylermandic Leave a Comment

Finding a house in London that has a nice view and plenty of sunlight is something that does not happen quite as much as you might like so you have to take advantage of the opportunity when it comes along. These are things that homeowners really value and if the house is in a nice area then you may need to act fast in order to secure the property for yourself.

However, just because these considerations are all to your satisfaction does not actually mean that the house itself will be in good condition. It could actually be quite rundown and it may need a lot of work doing to it. However, the fact remains that the location makes the house a very good potential investment.

You may even get the house relatively cheaply, in which case you may be able to afford to get expert help to get it back to its former glory. Design and build companies in London are good at getting rundown properties back up to scratch because they have plenty of architectural flair and building experience.

Renovate the part of the house that is holding the property back

February 10, 2018 By tylermandic Leave a Comment

If you know that one part of your house could do with some work in order to make the whole place feel more like home then it is not really worth putting it off. Jobs like these tend to make a huge difference to how comfortable you feel at home and pride of place is certainly one of the chief motivations behind renovation work conducted on a domestic basis.

It does not matter which part of the house you feel is not as nice as it could be because every single room contributes to the same sort of degree. It is just as important to have a nice and comfortable living room as it is to have an attractive and practical kitchen or a cosy and relaxing bedroom. Whichever room needs attention needs it fast if the place is ever to feel like home.

Renovation work is best conducted by professionals, but it is good to find a team that is personable and offers great customer service so that they can take you through the design process and the bulk of the practical work in the most open, friendly and transparent way.
