Our clients already occupied an extremely spacious apartment-maisonette, when the opportunity to buy the adjacent apartment arose. This presented the chance to triple the size of the family living spaces, creating a truly magnificent space.
Our first challenge was to remove the walls between the two flats, while managing the sensibilities and goodwill of numerous neighbours in two buildings and on several floors. Simultaneously, we juggled managing agents, party wall negotiations and structural engineers, triumphing in the end to fashion a unified, and rather magnificent home of palatial proportions. The elegant and stylish interior was deigned and built in a collaboration with interior designer Paolo Moschino of Nicholas Haslam, with whom our client already had an excellent existing relationship. The apartment is now an original and spectacular home, perfect for parties whilst also housing the owners’ large and eclectic art collection and providing a suitable setting for their fine antique furniture.
